When I was looking through the Vanity Fair Oscar photos, I noticed that Kelsey Grammer’s fourth wife, Kayte Walsh, looked pregnant again. I made a note to potentially cover it, but it was soon forgotten in the post Oscars rush. It turns out that Kayte, 34, is indeed pregnant again. The couple made an announcement to US Magazine. This will be Kayte and Kelsey’s second child together, they also have a 19 month-old daughter, Faith. Kelsey has four other children, with three different mothers. Those other children range in age from 30 to 9. Kelsey also has two year-old grandson who is older than his daughter.
In an interview shortly after his last child was born, Kelsey claimed that Kayte, a former flight attendant, was better than all of his previous children’s mothers because “this is the first time that I’ve been with someone who actually wanted to have children with me.” He added that “Obviously I’ve been married and had children before, but this is the first time that a marvelous young woman has come into my life and said, ‘I’d love to be your wife and have your children.’” It looks like it’s all going according to schedule, because Kelsey’s rep has confirmed that Kayte is pregnant with another one.
The last time we talked about Kelsey was over a year ago, when his rep issued a wordy denial claiming that Kelsey had used a carseat for his baby despite photos showing otherwise. Before that, Kelsey was defending the fact that he brought his newborn daughter to the Playboy Mansion Halloween party. His wife, Kayte, was in costume that night as Kelsey’s ex wife, Camille, dressed as a witch. (Kelsey of course cheated on Camille with Kayte and has admitted as much. The demise of that marriage was shown on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.)
Kelsey is 59 now and will be in his late 80s by the time this baby is in college, but I doubt he cares. He seems hell bent on having more kids. US reminds us that Kelsey said last fall “I think we’ll have at least two more, if not three or four. I think it’s a great way to live a life.”
