Pop singer Cheryl will be the subject of a gripping new episode of Who Do You Think You Are? where she discovers the story of her long-forgotten great, great, great grandfather.
While filming the emotional episode the sexy star discovered that he was quintessential Tommy who fought in the First World War and survived in one of the key battles.
Cheryl also finds out that she is related to a certain someone who has appeared in the media regularly in recent years.
The 33-year-old will no doubt be very proud to find out that her great, great, great grandfather fought and survived World War One as she she is a huge supporter of the British Military.
Back in 2011 the ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ hitmaker visited Afghanistan where she paid a visit to our brave troops at Camp Bastion.
During her emotional visit Cheryl spoke about her admiration for the soldiers saying:
“I always had admiration for what the guys do out here, but seeing them here at work is awe-inspiring.
“I’m delighted to be here to recognise all the hard work they do. Every one of them is a hero in my book.
Her words will hold even more emotion now she knows that she is directly descended from a hero of the Great War.
The former X Factor judge was approached by producers to take part in the new series after admitting in various interviews that she would love to take part in the family history show.
During the show the popstar also says she believes she has South American roots. A DNA test will prove whether her hunch is correct or not.
The new series of Who Do You Think You Are? will air this Autumn.
